That's SUPERCROSS MASTERS - Australia's richest motorcycle series, with a 2002 prizemoney payout of more than $300,000. SUPERCROSS MASTERS sweeps through the States of Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and NSW… through outdoor preliminary rounds… and then the indoor majors… in the ultimate spectator comfort zones of Australia's greatest sports/entertainment venues - climaxing this year at:
· ADELAIDE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE
. BRISBANE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE
. MELBOURNE PARK (the National Tennis Centre)
. SYDNEY SUPERDOME
Fans, Soil and Attitude !
Fans are jamming into the venues in sell-out numbers. ALL the motorcycle manufacturers - HONDA, KAWASAKI, SUZUKI, YAMAHA and the European KTM and HUSQVARNA now field factory teams so fierce is the competition. Thousands of tonnes of quality topsoil is trucked into the very heart of our Capital cities, bringing downtown the most testing of outdoor motocross terrain PLUS the technical impositions such as awesome double and triple jumps, brain-jarring stutters, tabletops and near-vertical berms.
Style and Character ...
But SUPERCROSS MASTERS is always about attitude and the best of our handlebar horde don't just win races… they go about making statements, radical statements. Every individual expresses his own character on a bike… and the fans recognise and worship the more radical. Unique to Australia are the prestige surrounds. This two-wheel action attraction is the only category of motorsport in the world conducted on the same floors that othertimes host cultures as diverse as Swan Lake ballet and Pavarotti.
Conclusion
So SUPERCROSS MASTERS boasts it all… extreme airborne action accompanied by the brightest of arclights, full-dimension audio systems, velvet spectator seats, ultimate all-weather comfort. And you'll never get closer to the action!!
SPOKES PROMOTIONS
It all started way back ...
Now in its 25th year ... SUPERCROSS MASTERS all started when SPOKES PROMOTIONS took Melbourne by storm; the first supercross staged in that sport-mad city at the Royal Melbourne Showground in November 1981. Following years saw SPOKES invade hallowed venues such as the SYDNEY ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE (velvet seats and all) in 1986 and then was one of the very first tenants on Centre Court at MELBOURNE PARK Tennis Centre.
Likewise, BRISBANE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE and ADELAIDE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE and then, in 1999, the first-ever ticketed event at the Olympic venue SYDNEY SUPERDOME.
Australia-wide Profile
The MASTERS gained national series status in 1990 while SPOKES PROMOTIONS involved itself in overseas ventures - supercross in the Californian capital of Sacramento as well as New Zealand. The Sydney-based promotion body has also staged indoor speedway and Monster Truck Mania. SPOKES PROMOTIONS is the producer of its own television broadcast - SUPERCROSS MASTERS - which is aired nationally on the TEN Network.
